Celebrate MLK Day in Shaker

Celebrate the life and contributions of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by joining us at one more of the following events:

  • January 12, 6:30 pm: Attend a public reflection/talk on Dr. King’s legacy presented by Cleveland Civil Rights icon and close associate of Dr. King, the Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. at the Shaker Heights High School large auditorium (15600 Aldersyde Rd.).

  • January 15, 3-5 pm: Dialogue on the theme: Dr. King's Beloved Community: Opportunities & Challenges for Shaker Heights Moving Forward Together at Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building (3450 Lee Rd.).

  • January 16, 12-2 pm: Drive-through Donation Day at Shaker Heights Middle School (20600 Shaker Blvd.) 
All are welcome to these community events, brought to you by Shaker Schools, the City of Shaker Heights and the Shaker Library. Find more information at the Shaker Schools website.

Also, on Monday, January 16, 10-11 am, all are welcome to East View United Church of Christ (17300 Van Aken Blvd.) for its 33rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Awards Program. Continental breakfast follows, 11am to noon. Call 216-921-7673 for more information.
