Cleveland History Center issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.
We are honored to share that University Circle Inc. received a “Building the Circle” Award in recognition of the Cozad-Bates House Interpretive Center and Walkway project.
Western Reserve Historical Society began working with UCI to develop an interpretive plan for the earliest portion of the home in early 2016. This plan included an exhibit that explores the history of the Underground Railroad in Northeast Ohio, curriculum development that uses this content to explore issues of race and social justice, and an exterior interpretive walkway. In partnership with UCI, WRHS developed an advisory committee to assist in all aspects of content development and lead the efforts to create the final exhibit now open at the Cozad Bates House Interpretive Center called “Finding Hope”.
