“I know I’ll be making Cynthia blush when I say that she is the lifeblood of PSO and the Ohio eSchool Coalition,” PSO Board of Directors President Letrisha Weber said. “Cynthia’s work has helped to improve the lives of tens of thousands of Ohio families over the past decade.”
Cynthia became involved in the school choice movement almost 20 years ago to fight for a better education for her daughters Monica and Renee.
“I would like to dedicate this award to all the parents and families who stand up and use their voice to advocate for others in their states and on the national level for school choice,” Cynthia said. “My daughters are grown and graduated from their Online public schools so YOU are the true inspiring stories today!”
Ohio eSchool Families & Friends Coalition Manager Sheryl Strecker noted that Cynthia started in the movement as a concerned parent, but she later got more involved as a board member.
“Cynthia is one of those special people who truly puts everyone else ahead of herself,” Strecker said. “She’s encouraged an entire network of other parent advocates whose stories she knows as well as her own, because she’s taken the time and energy to get to know both the parents and the students.”
“Congratulations Cynthia!,” she continued. “We’re so proud to call you one of Ohio’s own.”
