Heights CTE Marketing Management students, Mariya Hudson and Faith Griffin-Hodge, earned the opportunity to attend and participate in the 2022 Emerging Leaders Series ASPIRE Academy in Atlanta, Georgia at the Mercedez Benz Stadium. The Academy aims to empower DECA members by providing effective leadership through goal setting, consensus building, and project implementation.

During the Academy, Mariya and Faith were able to attend a special business reception sponsored by AT&T and the National DECA Inc.  Both students interacted with DECA members from several states and networked with adults from Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Utah, and California.

Thanks to AT&T’s generous financial contributions to the Heights High DECA program, their travel expenses were paid for with part of the AT&T grant funds for the ASPIRE Academy.

DECA’s Emerging Leader Series prepares members to be effective leaders in college and careers. DECA strives to equip students with 21st-century skills in the areas of critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
