Emergency Warming Centers

1

City of South Euclid recently issued the following announcement.

If you need shelter during this week’s Winter Storm Landon, City buildings will serve as “Warming Shelters” for any residents in need. Here’s what you need to know:

1. In the event a resident is without power, the Community Center is available weekdays, during normal operating hours (9a-5p) as a warming center.

2. After 5pm and before 9:00 am weekdays or during weekends, the South Euclid Police Department lobby area and/or the 2nd floor community room at City Hall may be used. Please enter City Hall through the back parking lot door.

3. At the direction of the South Euclid Fire Chief, the South Euclid Community Center will be opened for use after hours in the event that:

a) There is a need to accommodate residents due to overflow of the 2nd floor community room at South Euclid Municipal Complex.

 b) There is a large area of the City of South Euclid that is without power (gas, electric or both).

 c) In the event of a power outage where restoration of service is anticipated to be of a longer than average duration effecting a large number of households.

4. Pets are allowed, as long as they are leashed and/or crated and under owner control.

As always, please do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 should you need any help or assistance in the event of an emergency.
