Week ending June 27: 3 patents granted in Shaker Heights

Patent 16

There were three patents granted in Shaker Heights in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is three more than the week before. Patents included a movement disorder therapy system, devices and methods, and methods of remotely tuning.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to Dustin A. Heldman who filed in February 5, 2016.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
