Cleveland Hospital Primary Care Hospital issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.
It may be just under two months until the big day, but South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s specialist palliative care team has launched its reverse advent calendar appeal.
Unlike a traditional advent calendar where you open the doors and receive something for yourself, a reverse advent calendar is where you give something back and donate one item each day for 24 days in December.
All the donations will be collected and distributed as part of the palliative care team’s Dragonfly Scheme comfort packs, which are given to the relatives of patients receiving end of life care to help them remember their loved ones and to help them cope at such a difficult time.
The Dragonfly Scheme aims to improve end of life care for both patients and their relatives who often stay with their loved ones in hospital.
